What's your birth date?
What day did you come to life?
No, not screaming and kicking into a sterile hospital room. What day did you come to life? What's the day, or month, or even year when you knew you were alive? You knew you make a difference in the world? You knew that for you each day was an opportunity to love and serve and share?
I hope you know and even if you don't, no big deal, my prayer is that you feel alive right now.
More importantly, if you don't feel alive, what is your death date?
No, you will not find it on a tombstone. Not yet anyway.
What day did your hopes and dreams die? What day did status quo become the go?
Perhaps it was a discourager, "Please, why would you even think you could do that? Who do you think you are?"
Maybe it was an inner voice, "You're just not enough. You don't have what it takes."
It could have even been the one who was with you on your day of origin, "I wish you were never born."
All of these and more lead to death.
Death of hope.
Death of belief.
Death of dreams.
Death of passion.
But only if you let them. Only if you give them permission. You can choose life. You can live with the purpose of knowing your life counts. It matters. It impacts. It makes a difference.
If you do not have one already, allow today to become your birthday. The day you decide to live full force. The day you accept the responsibility of bringing joy and love to your world. The day you begin to ignore the voices and the past that led to a less than life. This is your new day… live on.

“Today I am giving you a choice of two ways.
And I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses of your choice. You can choose
life or death. The first choice will bring a blessing. The other choice
will bring a curse. So choose life! Then you and your children
will live. Deut. 30:19 ERV
