Children
are a gift from the Lord,
A
reward from a mother’s womb.

Punishment
and discipline can make children wise,
But
children who are never corrected will bring
Shame
to their mother.

The
command says,
“You
must respect your father and mother.”
This
is the first command that has a promise with it.
